Rotafix - Trickle Feeding System for Pigs Rotafix is a simple, easily operated, variable flat rate trickle feeding system. The low cost automatic option for stress free sow feeding. Rotafix trickle feeding system helps your sows regain prime condition during pregnancy. Sows or gilts are fed in small stable groups: the daily feed ration for each group can be set according to condition and the stage in gestation so that sows farrow at a targeted backfat level. How Rotafix works: Feed is supplied by a 90mm Rotaflex™ Conveyor, which delivers feed, via a Corevex reservoir tube, into a covered steel trough auger containing a dispensing spiral. At the touch of a button, the trough auger runs for a set number of revolutions, to deliver a specific volume of feed simultaneously to each feeding position. The number of revolutions is user settable, so it is easy to vary the amount of feed according to group condition, or to feed more to the group at the end of gestation to promote health and lactation performance. Feed is slowly “trickled” from the trough auger through heavy duty Corevex drop tubes, which are securely fixed to the wall or rails. This slow release of feed encourages the sows to remain in place, rather than competing for others’ feed. The trough auger can be supplied in sections, to give control of feed levels to separate groups of sows. Feed can be given once a day or offered as multiple meals. An aperture at the top of the tube allows moist breath to ventilate.
