  • Experienced Machinist / Engineer

    Full time: 40 hours. Mon – Friday
    Rate of Pay: Negotiable based on experience

    The role

    A great opportunity for an experienced and versatile machinist/engineer with a range of workshop skills. Must be adaptable and comfortable working alone or as part of a team, the role is varied and flexibility is required to work with an innovative and forward thinking Design Director producing prototype components from engineering drawings and small batch runs of turned and milled parts. Knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems will be an advantage but not absolutely necessary.

    Experienced Operational Use of

    • Lathes
    • Milling Machines
    • Presses and general workshop machinery

    Production Operative – Silo Build Assistant

    Rate of Pay: £9.60 per hour
    Hours: 40+ Monday - Friday
    Location: Catterall, Preston

    Who arewe?

    Collinson are a family run engineering business with 60 years’ experience designing, manufacturing and installing smooth walled steel silos for the agricultural industry.

    We have a proud tradition of investing in our employees and promoting from within, whenever the opportunity arises, previous Silo Build Assistants have secured roles managing their own departments, working in sales, purchasing and driving, this could just be the start for you.

    Role &Responsibilities,

    You will gain industry experience working with sheet metal alongside a team of dedicated hard working operatives.

    You will work with Air tools, hand tools, riveters and overhead cranes in a modern, well equipped factory gaining practical skills, knowledge and confidence.

    No previous experience is required. You will be fully trained and supported by a mentor as you learn the silo assembly process.

    It is a physical role which requires a practical approach to ensure silos are built to the required standards.
